At some point, an awful and uninformed human took it upon themselves to spread the most horrific urban legend ever. It was the tale of “You won’t be able to travel once you have children.” HMPH. See exhibit (A) which appears to suggest that motherhood and passport stamps can’t operate in the same universe. Continue reading “Wandering Moms: 9 Traveling Mommas You Need to Meet”
Sometime last December, Derek Low’s article “Across the USA by Train for Just $213” came across my Facebook timeline. It had only been approximately 2 months since the crew and I had returned to America. Upon our return, I’d made a pledge that 1) I wanted to focus more on domestic travel 2) I would love to travel using all modes of transportation (planes, trains, cruises, and road trips) this year. We have partaken in this strained and arranged love-hate relationship for over 30+ years. Without an option, I was committed to you at birth. I had no say! Continue reading “Dating America: A Single Mother’s Journey of Repatriation”
Yep you read that title right.
After over three years abroad, 4 Deep Around the World has relocated from The Middle East back to the United States. Go ahead, gasp and clutch your pearls if you must. I get it if you are shouting, “WHY???????”
For 4 Deep Around The World vacations are more than visiting amusement parks and buying souvenirs. It’s about understanding the culture and the world around us. Hang with us as a $200 international flight deal takes us from the city streets of Houston to a farm in New Zealand.
For our first day in New Zealand, we wake up on a milk farm prepared to learn all about the farming business. It was a day filled with manure, fresh milk, after birth and nipples.
Thank you to Stacey and family for hosting 4 Deep Around the World and opening up your home to us.

Let me warn you that momma bear was not in such a happy mood during the first part of our adventures. Hey it happens sometimes because parenthood + travels doesn’t always equal sunshine and rainbows. If you follow the journey of 4 Deep Around the World, you know I’m a huge advocate of international travel. I constantly promote taking advantage of every opportunity to see the world. World travel is the new “it” thing that’s taking the world by storm. This is evident by a simple peruse of the multitude of travel related Facebook groups and travel deal websites that have developed in recent years.
When relocating to a new city, state or country , you are always quickly pressed to immediately shift from tourist mode to resident. You soon become so focused on life and the day to day operation that accompany it that you miss out on the little gems and adventures your new home has to offer. I couldn’t tell you the rationale behind the initial thought process. As summer approached, my calendar quickly filled with worldwide and domestic excursions and outings. This summer, I set out on my #EpicSummer Series. I commanded authority over a summer full of “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” moments. Continue reading “A Single Mom’s Summer Quest for ME Time: 5 Weekends, 4 Countries, 4 States and 1 Powerful WhatsApp Message.”
As I pack for my next adventure in Italy, I decided to take some time out to address that million-dollar question that boggles the minds of so many in the minority community. It is a subject that many of my Nomad*ness Travel Tribe and United Arab Emirates friends are very familiar with. “How can you afford to travel?” Continue reading “How We Roll: 9 Months, 7 Countries, 3 Junior Nomads and 1 Determined Mother”
